More games

Well, it's been forever since I had an entry, in large part because I haven't been doing much with the site lately. Switching jobs and moving to another state have a way of cutting down free time.

The big thing right now has been Bible games as it has been attracting a lot of traffic to the site.  Being #5 on Google certainly helps with that.  So to add to the site, there are six new games up.  There's a couple more jumbles, a few hangmen, and probably the most popular, a new Millionaire game.  So check it out and enjoy.  Now that I'm back in business with the website I hope to be doing so more updates on a regular basis.

Games

I just wanted to drop a quick line to mention that two new games have been added to the Bible games section.  They are both Bible word jumbles, so jumble fans, go crazy.  Everything else is pretty much status quo around here.  I hope that wherever you are at - assuming it in the northern hemisphere - that things are starting to warm up and that you are enjoying the spring weather.

Currently Listening
God of Infinite Worth

Well...

I could have sworn I had an entry since October but apparently I only intended to make a post but never got around to it.  Pretty much all the same as far as updates go - a few new sermons and a couple more poems and stories.

The big update that I planned on mentioning in December was the relaunching of Spreading Light School at http://www.mychristianeducation.com  There currently isn't a big change as to what the school offers but it is now officially its own separate site instead of piggybacking off of Spreading Light like it has done for years.  The other noteworthy change is that the registration process has been streamlined considerably.  No more waiting for automated emails or anything like that.  Now just go at your own pace and come back anytime you like to continue.

I used to keep close track of all the students' submission and who completed what but after thousands of students there is just way too much to keep track of any longer and in the end I didn't do anything worthwhile with the statistics anyway.  So hopefully if nothing else the new format will make things easier for signing up.

The old school site is still active but I will begin forwarding things to the new site.  Anyone who has the old site bookmarked will still be able to use the bookmarks or they can update them.

I have a couple of weeks off work and hope to go through a slew of updates.  For once there will be no site changes, just hopefully a ton of sermons and articles to be posted.  If there is anything major outside of that I'll leave a note here.

Stories & sermons

Last week was productive and I'm hoping that after a slow start to the week, this week will be productive as well.  I start work with another church November 1st, so that will slow me down some, but I think I can get a lot done between now and then.

Last week I added a great number of stories and poems to Christian Life Stories.  I think there was a total of about 30 that I added.  It had been a while since I had added any, so I'm pleased to finally get more up.

Two ongoing projects are the adding of more sermons and the construction of a new school website.  I started adding new sermons again last week and, Lord willing, I will finish posting what I currently have in backlog today.  The school is coming along nicely.  There are a few things that I want to do with it yet, the biggest thing being an online Bible study section to compliment the studies designed more for small groups.  Not all of the studies I have will be able to be converted but a number of them should be applicable for personal study as well as the small groups they were originally intended for.

It is my goal to have the school up and running on November 1st and start an advertising blitz to start driving traffic there shortly thereafter.  I also have a new registered domain for the school and I will release the address as soon as the site is active.

Updates

There will hopefully be several updates in the upcoming days and weeks.  For those who haven't paid much attention, the site has not been updated in a while.  This is because I have been busy finished up my Masters degree.  The schoolwork is finished now and I'm excited about the possibility of a few things God may have in store for the future.

For now though, I'm back to posting articles and updating the site.  Today I posted an new article in the prophecy section outlining the differences between the rapture and the Second Coming.  I've discovered that many wisht o lump these events together but they are definitely described as separate events.

In the near future there will be a complete overhaul of the school.  I'm very proud of the thousands of students we've had since it was launched in 2003.  Now it is time to change the format around some and it will hopefully be beneficial to even more people than ever before.  Along with the reformatting, I hope to bring over some Bible studies to an online format that will be conducive to learning even outside of a small group.

And as always, I have more sermons to post.  I'm very pleased with the results of the launch of http://www.sermonsubmit.com  Because of this launch back in July, I have sermons that I want to copy over to Spreading Light and sermons on Spreading Light that I want to copy to Sermon Submit.  It will be a long and gradual process but be aware that it is going on.  For now, if you wish to submit an article or sermon, please do so at Sermon Submit.  This will allow for quick posting.

I'll keep things more updated than recently and will post all progress here.

Mike
